Our history

Node Panel Base began in 2022 when founders Mara Okonkwo and James Hartley noticed a gap in the UK market: plenty of online chatter about Solana NFTs, but very few places offering structured, in-person guidance for people who wanted to learn properly before minting or buying.

Mara, an illustrator who had released two small Solana collections, started hosting informal studio sessions for fellow artists in Whetstone. James, who had spent three years collecting and documenting marketplace behaviour, joined to build the collector consultation track. By late 2022, they formalised the operation as Node Panel Base Ltd and moved into the Oakleigh Road North studio where sessions run today.

Since then, the library has grown to four session types, a published guide collection, and monthly workshop dates that regularly sell out. We remain independent — focused on education, not selling tokens or managing collections on behalf of clients.

What we do

We teach practical Solana NFT skills: reading on-chain metadata, preparing artwork layers, setting up wallets securely, planning mint events, and navigating marketplaces like Magic Eden and Tensor. Our sessions are designed for real outcomes — a test-mint on devnet, a completed security audit, or a mint-day run sheet — not abstract theory.

Our team

Mara Okonkwo — Senior Creator Guide. Mara has released two generative Solana collections and leads the creator workshop and mint strategy sessions. She specialises in metadata standards and trait layer preparation.

James Hartley — Collection Advisor. James focuses on the collector side: wallet security, marketplace comparison, and research frameworks. He delivers collection building consultations and contributes library articles.

Sofia Reyes — Creator Coach. Sofia works with artists on multi-release schedules, providing fortnightly coaching and between-session artwork feedback.

Working approach

We keep groups small — workshop capacity is capped at eight — so every attendee gets individual attention during hands-on segments. We never ask for seed phrases or private keys. All mint fees and marketplace transactions happen on your own accounts, with us guiding the process step by step.

Our materials are updated quarterly to reflect marketplace policy changes, especially around royalties and listing requirements.

Community relationship

We participate in local North London creative meetups and occasionally host free open evenings where prospective learners can ask questions before booking. We are an independent educational resource with no affiliation to the Solana Foundation or any marketplace operator.
